This basket is woven on a “D” handle, and features a solid bottom with crow feet. Several rows of twining begin and end the sides. The center section is a chase weave, woven with at space dyed reed and at oval reed. There will be an emphasis on shaping. The rim is lashed with waxed linen. For those new to the technique, chase weaving will be discussed and demonstrated in class. Student will have a choice of several colors of spaced dyed reed.

The center section is a chase weave, woven with at space dyed reed and at oval reed. There will be an emphasis on shaping. The rim is lashed with waxed linen. For those new to the technique, chase weaving will be discussed and demonstrated in class. The instructor will contact each student as there is a choice of several colors of spaced dyed reed.
Materials: sharp oak “D” handle, at and at oval reed, space dyed reed, waxed linen
Tools needed: Usual basket tools including spoke weight (or something heavy) to start base, basket scissors, angle cutters, clothes pins, and sturdy packing tool.
