8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Width: 6″, Height: 10″
Prerequisites: Students should be comfortable with twining and shaping.
Starting with a painted head with holes drilled for the stakes, twine with round reed for several rows and then weave the body of the snowman with 3/16″ flat oval reed. Finish off the round reed stakes to create a base. Body is then spray painted with white spray paint. When the paint is dry we get to do the fun part, insert his arms and dress him with a summer “shirt”, baseball hat, sunglasses and some other fun stuff.
Materials supplied: Painted head, various sizes of reed, white spray paint and all snowman accessories, which can be a little different than pictured
Tools needed: Scissors, packing tools, needle nosed pliers, face mask for doing the spray painting. Also, please find 2 “arms”: 2 branches that are approximately 1/4″ in diameter and 9″ long with offshoots at the end so he looks like he has hands. See picture.
