This class is for the adventurous student that enjoys exploring other materials and likes to have input on the basket design. Students will choose and cut their materials for the spokes and decide on the materials used for weavers as well. There are no kits. They may choose to do over/under weaving or twills or three rod wale with the waxed linen. The phone carrier is woven over a mold. The rim is lashed with waxed linen. The strap is braided waxed linen thread.

Materials supplied: Cedar and birch bark, black ash, waxed linen, wire, and beads for basket. Bobbins, and needles for students to use in class.
Tools needed: Basket scissors, angle cutters, needle nose pliers, small and larger clips, wire cutters, flat waxed linen tool, Exacto knife
