Learn to weave a Tenerife design, a fun easy needle lace weaving technique, on a gourd. You will be provided with a prepared gourd. You will have several colors of gourd to choose from and three colors of thread that complement the gourd color. Follow the instructions or create your own design using waxed linen thread.
Materials Supplied: Prepared gourd, three colors of waxed linen thread, needle, drill bit, Tiger Tape, step by step-colored instructions, Glass button, beads
Tools Needed: Drill, awl, scissors

This handy bowl may be woven in several ways, so participants will have the opportunity to choose their design, and instructions are given for all options. The rim is finished with a braid, also with two options. Learn how to start a tight base that expands and how do open work twining.
Materials supplied: #4 round reed with pre-cut spokes in kit.

Prerequisites: Ability to work small - 2 and 4 ply waxed linen thread. At least some twining experience.
Make a pair of earrings of waxed linen thread using twining and reverse twining techniques. Materials supplied will include enough for 2 pairs of earrings. Make a simple pattern, or learn a complex one, they all look great! Each pair of earrings will vary depending on the patterns chosen by each student.
Materials Supplied: 2 and 4 ply waxed linen thread, jump rings, ear wires, beading foundation, glue
Tools Needed: Sharp scissors (embroidery or similar), tweezers can sometimes be useful.

This basket is woven on a “D” handle, and features a solid bottom with crow feet. Several rows of twining begin and end the sides. The center section is a chase weave, woven with at space dyed reed and at oval reed. There will be an emphasis on shaping. The rim is lashed with waxed linen. For those new to the technique, chase weaving will be discussed and demonstrated in class. The instructor will contact each student as there is a choice of several colors of spaced dyed reed.
Materials: sharp oak “D” handle, at and at oval reed, space dyed reed, waxed linen
Tools needed: Usual basket tools including spoke weight (or something heavy) to start base, basket scissors, angle cutters, clothes pins, and sturdy packing tool.

The basket is a mixture of round and flat oval reed with cotton cord accents. Students will learn how to go from a square base to a round basket without a cathead. Techniques include 3 rod-wale, the ridge weave, and the Japanese diamond weave. Extra spokes will be added as the basket is woven and the rim is triple lashed with cord. The instructor will contact each student about color choices. Most students should finish in class, but slower weavers may need to finish up on their own.
Materials supplied: Natural and dyed round and flat oval reed. Waxed cotton cord.
Tools needed: Usual basket tools including spoke weight, packers, angle cutters, needle nose pliers, scrapers, and clips.
